Pianist Elizabeth Dorman performs Scarlatti: Two Sonatas in D major, Kk. 435 and Kk. 436, Mozart: Sonata in F major, K. 533/494, Mendelssohn: Prelude and Fugue in E minor, Opus 35, No. 1, and Bach: English Suite No. 5 in E minor, BWV 810.
Praised by Joshua Kosman of the San Francisco Chronicle for her “crisp, brightly finished” playing and her “elegance and verve,” pianist Elizabeth Dorman received the 2017 Father Merlet Award from Pro Musicis and was a finalist in the 2018 Leipzig International Bach Competition. Appearances in the 2018-2019 season include Bach’s concerto in D minor BWV 1052 with the Leipzig Chamber Orchestra, solo recitals in Washington, California, and New York, chamber music performances with principal players from the Los Angeles and New York Philharmonics, and members of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and as a featured pianist with the Louisville Orchestra for Saint-Säens’s Carnival of the Animals. Upcoming recording projects include an album of Scarlatti sonatas, anticipated for release in Fall 2019.
