Pianist Simone Leitão performs Domenico Scarlatti: Sonatas in B minor K 87 and A major, K 114; Handel: Chaconne in G major; Villa-Lobos: Carnaval das Crianças Brasileiras, Plantio do Caboblo and Festa no Sertão.
Simone Leitão maintains a busy concert schedule with over 40 performances a year, performing in major halls such as Carnegie Hall, São Paulo Symphony Hall, Cecília Meireles Hall, and Knight Concert Hall. She has collaborated with conductors such as Eduardo Marturet, Apo Hsu, Ricardo Castro, Daniel Guedes, Luiz Fernando Malheiro, and Guilherme Bernstein to name a few.
Leitão is known for her great interpretation of the music of Bach, Beethoven, Villa-Lobos, and Prokofiev. She has just launched her second album—an all Bach program—recorded in Oslo, Norway. In 2018 Leitão toured the U.S., Brazil, Caribe, South America, as well as London, Paris, Greece, Moscow, and Denmark culminating with a Carnegie Hall appearance this past January 2019 in a performance featuring her Bach album.
