February 18, 2018: The Los Angeles Piano Sextet

Susan Greenberg (flute), Jonathan Davis (oboe), Michele Zukovsky (clarinet), Judith Farmer (bassoon), Amy Jo Rhine (horn), and Bernadene Blaha (piano) perform Mozart: Quintet for piano and winds, K. 452, Poulenc: Sextet for piano and winds, and Thuille: Sextet, Opus 6.

Flutist Susan Greenberg enjoys a versatile career as soloist, chamber musician, symphony player, and recording artist. Her playing has been described as "brilliant," "elegant and supple," with a "gorgeous tone." As a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, she has been a frequent soloist on both flute and piccolo. Ms. Greenberg has also appeared as guest soloist with the San Francisco and Oakland Symphonies, with the Santa Monica Symphony, at the Casals Festival, and at the Hollywood Bowl. She has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, L.A. Opera, New York City Opera, American Ballet Theater, Joffrey Ballet, and the Ojai Festival. She was the principal flutist of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra during their 1995 tour of Japan. In March 2003 she was the piccolo soloist with the Napa Valley Symphony performing the Bruce Broughton concerto written for her. In October 2006 Ms Greenberg performed a concerto for alto flute, flute and piccolo written for her by Gernot Wolfgang with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.

Ms. Greenberg received her B.A. cum laude and her M.A. from UCLA and is presently an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University. She has also taught at California Institute of the Arts and Occidental College. She received the "Most Valuable Player" award on the flute from the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences. Ms. Greenberg is also active in motion pictures, television and commercial recordings.
