June 8: UCLA Camarades

June 8: UCLA Camarades

The UCLA Camarades is a versatile chamber music ensemble ranging from duos to a full string orchestra composed of the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music’s acclaimed string faculty and its most gifted students. Their LACMA program includes Johann Sebastian Bach’s motet, Komm, Jesu, Komm, BWV 229; Osvaldo Golijov’s Last Round; and Béla Bartók’s Divertimento for Strings.

Since its inception in 2009, Camarades ensembles have performed at numerous chamber music series and venues of Los Angeles, including previous performances at LACMA’s Sundays Live and the Dilijan Concert Series at Zipper Hall. A quartet recently formed within the UCLA Camarades program, the LAMI Quartet, was a finalist in the Chesapeake Chamber Competition in 2011.

This concert is supported by a generous grant from the Hind Foundation.
