April 27: Pianist Marina Lomazov

Ukrainian-American pianist Marina Lomazov returns to Sundays Live.

Praised by critics as “a diva of the piano” (Salt Lake City Tribune), “a mesmerizing risk-taker” (Plain Dealer, Cleveland), and “simply spectacular” (Chicago International Music Foundation), Lomazov has established herself as one of the most passionate and charismatic performers on the concert scene today. Following prizes in the Cleveland International Piano Competition, William Kapell International Piano Competition, and others, she has given performances throughout the world. New York Times chief music critic Anthony Tommasini describes her recent New York performance as “dazzling.”

The program includes Joseph Haydn’s Variations in F Minor, Hob. XVII: 6; Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in G-sharp Minor, op. 32, no. 12, Prelude in G Major, op. 32, and Etude in D Major, op. 39, no. 9; Robert Schumann’s Kreisleriana, Op. 16; and Nilkolai Kapustin’s Variations, op. 41.
